is not easy - but there is so
many of you that we feel a need
to send our thanks to....
Thank
you so much for all your
kindness, and thank you for
comeing to Sveins funeral. It
felt so good to see so many of
you in the church, and not at
least showing up at graveyard.
We
can not thank you enough for all
your help and support in the
past days and weeks - both
before and after the funeral.
Neither can we thank you enough
for all your kindness and warm
thoughts.
It
is nice to know that Svein had
so many friends around him -
espesially is nice to know now
when we are in sorrow.
We
will miss Svein deeply - and we
know that you will too.
We
need to work our way through our
sorrow - we will allways miss
him - but we also need to find
the good memories and go on with
our lifes.
We
are lighting a candle every day
- and remembering Svein. Some
days are harder to cope with
than others - but it gives us
extra strenght knowing that you
all are around.
Thank
you ever so much for all your
kind words on internett, phones,
SMS, condolances, flowers and
gifts at the funeral.
And
not to forget - thank you
for beeing you - and all
the support and kindness your
are giving us in this sad time.

It
sure has been a couple of
tough weeks that we had to
endure lately.I had been
fishing with Carl Olson the
FIA drag racing council rep
when Charley called me and
brought the sad news to me
about Gotten's accident.Gotten
was one helluva guy and his
happy smile and face will be
truly missed here at my shop!
He used to pop up out of
nowhere and want to buy parts
for his bike and his friends.
Once that was done there was
always time for a cold one and
some chickenwings at Wingnuts!
I
am happy to have met him and
his team at the Mantorp Race
in Sweden earlier this year.
Having pitted across from
Karling Racing for
several years at Mantorp it
was always a nice greeting in
the morning to hear him in his
Norwgian accent.....morrn
Jarmo. The guy never seemed
down no matter what happened
and I think we all will be
greatful to have known such a
great personality! He was one
of the original super...Super
Twinners and he will be missed
but never for..GOTTEN!
My

What
can we say at a time like this
except out thoughts and
prayers have been with you
since we heard the news of
Svein. We have talked of
some of the memories we have
had of Gottenberg and his gang
coming to the states.
Like the pictures at Denny's
so you kind of knew what you
were ordering to eat. Or
the Blues Mobile that made
many trips, to California and
Texas etc.. We wouldn't
have gone across Kansas with
it. Anyway we will truly
miss his vists here in the
states collecting parts,
knowledge, clothes, and
watching and being a
part of the racing here.
We will miss his Good Morning
calls, when it's nighttime
over there. He will be
missed by this family.
God Bless you and comfort you
and strengthen you through
this time of great sorrow.

beskrives hvor trist en dag alle

hvor alle Sveins venner var ,
var der ubegribeligt stille , de
var alle i dyb chock.

Et
sjokk rett og slett. En følelse
av urettferdighet var det jeg
kjente når jeg fikk høre at
Gotten har blitt revet fra oss.
Jeg har ”kjent” Svein siden
slutten av 70 tallet og har
alltid opplevd ham som en stor
mann. Stor i sin iver for å nå
sine mål i dragracing og i
livet ellers. Stor i sin omgang
med menneskene rundt seg. Men
aldri ble han så stor at han
glemte å være menneskelig og
spre humør i sin omgang med
andre. Som fan/supporter har jeg
mange ganger møtt ham, enten på
stevner eller når han var på
jobb og han var alltid like blid
og tok seg tid til å slå av en
prat. Ingen stormannsnykker fra
den mannen. Både deltager og vi
fansen i dragraceingmiljøet
kommer til å savne deg Gotten.
Mine tanker går til alle som
har mistet en venn, inspirator
og ikke minst til familien.

Vi
är så chockade och har svårt
att förstå vad som hänt.
Gotten var en mycket mycket fin
vän och super-twinnare. Vi
kommer att sakna honom oerhört
mycket! Vi är så ledsna och
chockade att vi inte kommer att
få träffa honom mer. Vi har många
fina, spännande och roliga
minnen av honom. Nu får vi trösta
oss med att Svein är uppe bland
molnen och pratar tuning och
dragbikes med Lasse W, Fladder
och Jim McClure och A-B står för
matlagningen. De kommer alltid
vaka över oss och speciellt på
race-banorna. Och Anne,
Christoffer och Gunnar nu är
det tufft men ni skall veta att
ni har många vänner som gärna
ställer upp för er när som
helst, vi är här!!!
We
are in a state of shock and we
try to understand what have
happend. Gotten was a dearly
friend and Super-Twinner to us.
He will be very missed! We are
very sad and in shock that we
never will meet him again. We
got so many nice, exiting and
funny memories of him. The only
comfort now is that he probably
is in the clouds talking tuning
and dragbikes with Lasse W,
Fladder and Jim McClure and A-B
is doing the cooking for them.
They will always have an eye on
us especially on the race track.
And Anne, Christoffer and Gunnar
it is a hard time for you now,
but you should know that you got
many friends and we will always
be here for you, anytime!!!!

was indeed Gotten that made me
go to top-fuel, the best thing
I have ever done, and he was
always a very good friend. I
cannot believe this has
happened but must accept it,
after all we are not playing
darts here, we are throwing
ourselves down the road on the
most powerful machines known
to man so must accept some
consequences but I will miss
him terribly. My thoughts are
with Anne and Gunnar also
faithful loving friends to all
in the pits. You are all our
inspiation.

In memory of
Svein
"Gotten" Gottenberg
"Gotten"
died Friday 1. september in an
accident at Mosten Raceday in
Denmark.
This is the hardest
word I have ever written, but I have
try to say something.
We all have lost a
dear friend and a true dragracer.
Everyone who`s racing knows
"Gotten", and this is a
tragedy that affects us all.
This year was the 25
th. year "Gotten" was
dragracing, and he was the one and
only reason that so many other Super
Twin drivers started. For some years
ago there was only Svein that was
doing our class in Norway. But after
we have been known with Svein in the
mid 90`th, we was affected by his
enthusiasm, and started to collected
parts for Super Twin Top Fuel
Bike.
It started like a
ordinary family weekday, parts who
Gotten didn`t need, we inherited.
And to day there are 8 Super Twin
racers in Norway, many of them in
the top ten in Europe, all thanks to
Svein.
We all are like a
family; the "Super Twin
Family". At the Christmas Tree
we all are competitors, but in the
pit we share everything, both sorrow
and happiness, mostlly a lot of
happiness. But in this moment we
must share the hardest sorrow, the
loss of a very beloved friend.
Our thoughts goes to
Anne, who has lost her best friend
and husband. We all thinking of you,
and remember that we are all here
for you.
We will miss you
"Gotten", but our memory
is filled up with good moments that
we shall bring further into the
future.
